Elevator motors usually use permanent magnet synchronous motors, mainly due to the advantages of being easy to make into low speed and high power permanent magnet synchronous motors. It has a compact structure and complete functions, integrating traction motor, traction wheel, electromagnetic brake, and photoelectric encoder, making it easy to install and use.
There are two main types of elevator motors: AC elevator motors and DC elevator motors. As driving motors for traction machines or elevator loads, they belong to the motor type, and their power supply is also divided into AC and DC.
AC elevator motors are basically asynchronous (induction) motors, so the rotor speed is also lower than the speed of the stator rotating magnetic field called synchronous speed.
The stator power supply of AC elevator motors is basically three-phase, but the voltage is divided into various types; For example, 220V, 380V, 420V, 440V, etc., most of them are 380V. The frequency of AC power supply is power frequency, but there are often two types: 50Hz and 60Hz.
